Lovely location on the beach. Has a huge swimming pool. Great buffets Wonderful sunsets views from the room

Gorgeous setting, friendly staff, clean swimming pools, great gym facility, tasty fresh omelettes on offer for breakfast each day! We were full board rather than all inc. great idea as drinks were so reasonable we never would have been able to drink the amount that we would need to, to make the difference!! the all inc. guests also had local spirits & a list of those drinks included which we wouldn't have wanted.

Not enough plain food for the tourists who don't want spicy food every lunch & evening, no decent wine at all, only a Chardonnay & one red wine...both were shocking!! Also staff didn't clear the tables ready for people waiting to sit down to eat efficiently in the dining area.

Breakfast and Dinners were excellent. The staff - all of them - were absolutely outstanding The Pool was excellent - and the staff most helpful

The hotel room and general amenities were a bit run down and needs some upgrading. As an example the bath in the bathroom has definitely seen better days!

Very comfortable, good food, great beach, pool & garden. Most of all, the staff - they work so hard & are so nice.

Lots of maintenance issues, which is understandable considering hotel was closed until December 2021, but needs to be attended to soon.

I have stayed here before and was extremely happy to find that the standards had not dropped. The hotel is clean, the staff are very helpful and friendly. The food was very good! I will definitely be returning!

Good and spacious pool area, comfortable beds, lots of storage in the room. Buffé in Admirals room was super good, desserts were delicious! Gym was great!

Poor wifi in the room. There was a bit of a rush to the sunbeds in the morning, some people went outside at 6am just to grab a sunbed, to then go back to there room.

Staff need training. A five star hotel should have hairdryers in each room. There should be teaspoons provided at the tea and coffee station. Staff need to be told to smile, to look happy to be there not grumpy.

staff slow, not attentive at all. complete lack of communication but that could be a language barrier. lack of poolside service. no activity schedule. food monotonous and average. no local food on offer, catering for the masses and only one restaurant open. executive lounge closed also.

Large garden and nice pool

Their bank overcharged my stay and I had to argue with them for more than 30 minutes so that they would accept their error. In general, their staff are below par for a 5 star hotel... Rooms and generally the hotel needs to be refreshed.

The pool was big enough for laps

The food and food service can definitely improve. Mistakes with orders and replacement. Also found a hair in my sandwich from pool bar.

This venue has a unique combination of light, air, water and nature in and around Geoffrey Bawa's architecture. Also in nice weather the beach and the swimming pool are creating an exceptional outdoor setting.

The bath tub plumbing seemed to be slightly leaking on the floor.

Like everything about the property and we was upgraded for a suite. We stayed from 22nd may for two days and the staff was very very friendy and helped and assisted on every possible way. The room was with a sea view calm and quite. Highly enjoyed the stay and recommend.

Helpful, Warm and friendly staff. Well organized Avurudu celebrations. Comfortable & clean rooms. Loved the pool. Food on the weekend 13th & 14th were fantastic! Great spread . !!

The starters and salads spread could be improved. We were served some of the same desserts for every meal (lunch and dinner) on both days. The food served on the 12th night was not of blue water standard. Non of the 15 in our group enjoyed dinner that night. We were disappointed.

This is a large beach front hotel principally for families. For us it was too much like being on a cruise ship, buffet style meals, huge pool and lots of people.

We stayed for 12 nights at the beginning of February. The location is dreamy, fantastic! Transfer from Colombo airport is around 1:30h, get the hotel to arrange it, we used a local airport taxi for the trip down, who were a bit useless. We had a 3rd floor room (not suite) - huge! comfy, cool, clean, stylish, well looked after. The chamber boy made us a selection of towel animals throughout our stay, which were greatly appreciated. The architecture of the hotel by world-renounced Geoffrey Bawa is STUNNING! I'm a real lover of symmetry and was tickled-pink by all of the incredible details and the cleverly created views. Most of the time you feel like you have the place to yourself, no need to reserve sunbeds here! Swimming in the warm-tropical sea is a wonderful daily treat, as is strolling along the endless beach. We stayed on a full-board basis, the food was just excellent, with a bewildering array of choices morning, noon and night. Service was superb. Drinks are around £4 for a large beer and £6 for a gin and tonic. The Indian palm squirrels deserve a special mention for being constant and amusing companions.

Some dress-restrictions for dinner wouldn't go amiss. Not a lot going on in the immediate locality, Sri-Lankans are a friendly bunch, and it's safe to wander out.

The bed was super comfy. The jaccuzi in our room was amazing. They upgraded us for free which was super nice of them.the spa treatment was good too. And the food was delicious

Nice hotel with beautiful territory. Many birds on the trees and on the grass. Big swimming pools, direct access to the beach. Sand and see were clean. Great morning and evening buffet. Polite and attentive staff. Room was spacious and clean. Wonderful seaview from the balcony. Stable wi-fi.

Rooms could use some renovation. There are visible scuffs and cracks here and there. And hotel in general looks a bit outdated.
